My Characters

Kite

Characters are something very special to me. I believe it's characters that make or break a story. They are created first in my mind and it's the name of one character that I took as my handle.

Kite - Is an original character based on an established series. So, though I might take her characteristics and someday put them into another creation, the name "Kite" and her original design will never be published. She is a part of my fandom, my fanfiction, and is basically my guilty pleasure. This is how I usually derive my online 'handle', from a character I completely identify with whom I can never bring to life on the pages of a book.

	This drawing was done by Silkyfuzz of Deviantart.com. I believe she captured Kite's spirit in the design of the series she was created for. You'll find I often use this picture as my avatar.

Kite Jayden

An ex-sky knight from a disbanded squadron, Kite is a natural spy with a talent for shielding crystals. Armed with only her twin energy daggers, she decided to spy on cyclonia in an effort to be useful. She shadowed the Dark Ace for almost 2 years and slowly began to admire him for his strength, cunning and ability to defeat any opponent. Although at the same time she grew depressed that her journal on cyclonia would never reach the hands of some squad capable of defeating him.

Then it happened that he went down on the sands of Saharr and she had the opportunity to save his life. Forced by the strange feelings she had for him, Kite saved him only to have him turn on her. But her fire and feelings for him showed through her defense. The Dark Ace took advantage as he found himself having the time to enjoy this new found 'toy'. Kite managed to slip out of his grasp when it was over but they had both started something that would change their lives forever.

The Dark Ace

The Dark Ace is a character I did not create although he frequents my work so much I thought he deserves an explanation. I did not design this evil pilot/warrior but I did give him a real name and a life to go with it.

Jet

- As I call him, did belong to a heroic squad of defenders, but why he betrayed them was not as simple as his original creators lead us to believe. In my take on his life he was a good albeit competitive young man. Capable of outshining many others, and always pushed the envelope with his squad leader. His kindness only shone through when he was left babysitting the leaders young son (Jet being the youngest of his squad and lowest in the chain of command).

He was brought to the precipice when his home was attacked. Instead of being allowed to save his family he was locked in his room since the united squads had a plan and his leader didn't want him to interfer. The plan failed to save many of the people on Haven. Jet nearly attacked his own leader and friend when they released him. The squad gave him time alone for him to go to his still smoldering home and mourn.

The Master of Cyclonia - who attacked Have, had noticed that Jet wasn't beside the stoic squad leader who had always stood in his way of domination over the known world. Through his strange unknown powers he sought out the teenager and found the truth behind his absense. The Master approached him on Haven and through a forced conversation, offered him the chance to betray his squad and unite the world under the cyclonian banner. Jet was already grief stricten and angry, but the strange powers the Master weilded went to work on his mind as well; twisting his wounded heart against his squad.

When the time came, Jet took down his squad and joined the ranks of cyclonia.

As I mentioned, in an additional background - I gave the Dark Ace and the lead hero: Aerrow, a shared past. Seeing how Aerrow is definately the son of the squadron's leader - it's easy to see the little boy knowing Jet. Jet being the youngest, it's natural to see him as Aerrow's closest friend, honorary brother, or babysitter.
