StarKite came about years ago when I adopted the online handle of 'Kite' based on a character I created.  The wording "Star" was added to make the web address unique - a 4 point star was also a symbol associated with this character.  Call it what you will, it was a beginning

This website was first created with the intent to be purely personal.  Just a place where I could tinker with my web building skills and explore new design concepts.  But over the years it has grown to include a more professional side.  I still keep "StarKite" because the name remains fairly unique - I only seem to be sharing it with a surf kite creator.

What's in a name, really?  Many company names start out quirky and modest until they take flight.  So regardless of whether or not I still work freelance under my own name, my website will always be StarKite - a name you can recognize as unique with an interesting spark.

A lesser known fact is that I am still an unpublished writer who uses the online handle "Kite".  All I have to say about that is that there are tons of people out there with crazy handles who make tons more money than I do.  Give a geek a break.
